King of Jordan: Peace in the region depends only on the solution of the Palestinian issue

Pak Sahafat – The King of Jordan said at the “Quds, Stability and Development” conference in Cairo that the region cannot enjoy peace, stability and prosperity if the Palestinian issue is not resolved.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Sputnik news agency on Sunday, during the conference held today at the headquarters of the Arab League, Abdullah II added: The focus of our meeting today is related to the conscience of the Arabs; because Quds is the first Qibla of Muslims.

He added: Preserving the opportunities for peace based on the (so-called) “two-state” solution requires stopping all aggressions and attacks of the Zionist regime on Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The King of Jordan once again emphasized his country’s support for the Palestinian nation: We ask the international community to fulfill the rights and just and legitimate demands of the Palestinians by creating an independent, sovereign and stable Palestinian state centered on Jerusalem.

Abdullah II added that the attempt to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque in time and place, which destroys the chance of achieving the desired peace, and the attempt to change the existing historical and legal situation, will have negative consequences on the security and stability of the entire region.

He stated that Jordan continues to do its best to protect and take care of Islamic and Christian holy places in Jerusalem and to continue maintenance and reconstruction projects in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to this report, the conference to support Quds, entitled “Quds-Stability and Development” was held in Cairo today, Sunday, with the presence of Arab figures at high levels and the participation of international organizations and institutions.
