The King of Jordan emphasized the necessity of realizing the rights of the Palestinian people

Pak Sahafat – The king of Jordan emphasized the country’s comprehensive support for the Palestinians to achieve their legitimate rights.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, quoted by Jordan’s official news agency (Petra), King Abdullah II of Jordan today (Sunday) in a meeting with Mahmoud Abbas, head of the Palestinian Authority, emphasized Jordan’s all-round support for the Palestinians in achieving their just and legitimate rights and said: Jordan will continue all its efforts to protect and care for Islamic and Christian holy places in Jerusalem, based on the Hashemite Velayat over these holy places.

In this meeting, which was held at Al-Husseiniyah Palace in Amman, the capital of Jordan, Abdullah II emphasized the need for joint action between Jordan and Palestine at different levels to strengthen diplomatic activity in the region after the visit of US President Joe Biden and the Jeddah Security and Development Summit.

The king of Jordan also emphasized the importance of continued coordination between Jordan and Palestine, especially before the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly next September, and emphasized Jordan’s desire to place the Palestinian issue at the center of this meeting.

He emphasized on maintaining coordination with the “Arab brothers” to support the cause of Palestine and on the need for Palestinians to participate in regional projects, to empower them and to support their stability in the scene and not to sideline them.

According to the report of the Jordanian news agency, in this meeting, opinions were exchanged about regional developments, especially the upcoming elections of the Israeli regime and its effect on the possibility of resuming peace talks between Palestine and Israel.

The Palestinian news agency “Wafa” also reported that Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority, in a bilateral meeting with the King of Jordan, discussed the latest developments in Palestine and the challenges facing the Palestinians as a result of the continuing crimes of the Israeli occupation regime.

Wafa added that Mahmoud Abbas also reviewed the bilateral relations and common issues of the two countries and the latest political developments in the region.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Bashar al-Khasauneh, the Prime Minister, Ayman Safadi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, and Major General Ahmed Hosni, the head of Jordan’s General Intelligence.

Also, from the Palestinian side, Hossein Al-Sheikh, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Major General Majid Faraj, Head of the Public Information Organization, Majdi Al-Khaldi, Advisor to the President of the Palestinian Authority on Diplomatic Affairs, and Attaullah Khairi, the Palestinian Ambassador to Jordan, were present.
