But what led to the acceptance of this ceasefire by Saudi Arabia are the following reasons:
Field conditions
Saudi Arabia has not been successful on the ground for three reasons:
A) The situation on the ground in Yemen, especially after the attacks of the Yemeni forces on the important areas of Saudi Arabia, has led to Riyadh agreeing to this ceasefire. Of course, the field conditions have been to the detriment of the Arab coalition and the Saudis for the past few years, after the clashes in Al-Hudaidah, and especially after the operation to liberate Marb.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia tried to change the scene in its favor with the arrival of some European countries, but in practice it was observed that it did not achieve much success. However, these countries have always supported Saudi Arabia for the past eight years.
B) On the other hand, Saudi Arabia tried to reach Sanaa by creating different fronts from the east and west of Yemen, which failed in all these cases. Their most recent failure was on the Hajj front, where they failed to achieve military success.
C) Saudi Arabia’s military disputes with the UAE had escalated over the past year. In some cases, there were fierce clashes between forces affiliated with the UAE and Mansour Hadi’s forces in Aden.

Military conditions
The military situation means the military situation of Saudi Arabia and especially the expenses that this country has incurred. According to unofficial reports, Saudi Arabia spent more than $ 300 billion during the Yemeni war, which equates to the 18-year budget of a country like Jordan. These costs are mostly spent on buying weapons from European countries, especially from the United States, Britain and Germany.
Regional conditions
Saudi Arabia considers itself one of the regional powers, and the war in Yemen has greatly weakened this statement in the minds of some Western countries in the region. Saudi Arabia’s Arab rivals, especially Qatar, have increased their regional position and influence over the past few years with their policy of neutrality in the face of crises. These conditions are not acceptable for Saudi Arabia and it should change the balance of power in regional issues. The only factor that can create this balance in the current situation is the war in Yemen.
Realism
Saudi Arabia has been seeking a way out of the Yemeni crisis for years. But exit with achievement. According to the Saudis, leaving Yemen should not lead to Ansarullah gaining power and becoming a major player inside Yemen.
For this reason, under various pretexts, it put Ansarullah on the sanctions list or, through the support of the United States, declared this movement a terrorist. Of course, Saudi Arabia’s efforts did not end here, and at the very beginning of the Yemeni war, with the passage of Resolution 2216, it was intended to keep Ansarullah out of the main actors inside Yemen.
Saudi Arabia has now come to the fact that Ansarullah is the main player inside Yemen, and the adoption of any condition requires the support and cooperation of this movement. A clear example of this is the announcement of the current ceasefire, which was proposed by Ansarullah.

The announcement of this ceasefire is a great victory for Ansarullah and the Yemenis after 8 years. Although the previous Saudis did not adhere to the ceasefire and may follow the same trend in this sharp ceasefire, accepting this ceasefire and Ansarullah conditions could pave the way for more achievements for the Yemenis, especially in the political arena.
