Russian planes destroyed a headquarters of the terrorist Al-Nusra Front in Syria

Pak Sahafat – The planes of the Russian army stationed in Syria destroyed a military headquarters of the terrorist group known as “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” (former Jabhat al-Nusra) in the west of the city of Idlib in northwestern Syria.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Russia’s Sputnik news agency quoted a high-ranking source in the field and announced without mentioning his name: Russian reconnaissance planes detected several military vehicles belonging to Jabhat al-Nusra, which were transporting military equipment and boxes possibly containing drones from one of the warehouses of this terrorist group in the border city of Sarmada, Syria with Turkey, to the vicinity of Idlib city at night.

This source said: Following the reconnaissance operation, Russian planes completely destroyed the aforementioned headquarters (warehouse) in three air strikes at midnight, according to preliminary information, during this attack, six terrorists were killed and the rest were injured, most of them are Chinese and Chechen nationalities. Three cars of the terrorists were also destroyed in these airstrikes.

According to this source, the targeted headquarters was newly built and the armed elements of Jabhat al-Nusra had recently built it near the “Tal al-Ramman” area in the west of Idlib city, which is covered with trees.

An Al-Nusra Front headquarters near the city of Idlib was targeted by a joint Russian-Syrian airstrike earlier this month.

According to the 2017 agreement between Iran, Russia and Turkey as guarantors of the Astana peace, four safe zones were established in Syria (reduction of tension).

Three regions came under the control of the Syrian army in 2018, but the fourth region, which includes Idlib province in northwestern Syria and parts of Latakia, Hama and Aleppo provinces, is still in the hands of terrorist groups and is said that control of this area is mostly in the hands of the terrorist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (former Jabhat al-Nusra).
