Yemen: The continuation of the siege will hinder the extension of the ceasefire

Pak Sahafat – Deputy Foreign Minister of Yemen said: The continuation of the blockade of the Yemeni nation will make the extension of the ceasefire difficult and difficult.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s Tuesday report from Yemen’s al-Masira channel, Hossein Al-Azi added: The siege is a war crime and a crime against humanity.

He added: It is very shameful that the role of Western countries and the United Nations is limited to strengthening the blockade and legalizing it as a military and negotiation weapon.

Al-Azi said: The United Nations and Western governments are caught between the carrot of the Persian Gulf countries and the stick of America and have nothing to do with the laws, and this is the first time that this has happened in history.

Yemeni military official: The Saudi coalition wants to continue the tension in Yemen

At the suggestion of the United Nations, a two-month ceasefire was established in Yemen from April 2 (April 13), one of the most important provisions of which is the arrival of 18 fuel-carrying ships at Hodeidah ports and allowing two weekly round-trip flights from Sana’a airport. But this ceasefire has been violated hundreds of times by the coalition of aggressors.

Saudi Arabia, in the form of a coalition of several Arab countries, including the UAE, and with the help and green light of the United States, launched massive attacks against Yemen – the poorest Arab country – on the pretext of returning Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, the resigned and fugitive president of this country, from April 6, 2015.

Organizations affiliated to the United Nations, including the World Health Organization and UNICEF, have warned many times that due to the continued attacks of the aggressors on Yemen, the people of this country are facing famine and a humanitarian disaster that is unprecedented in the last century.

Many experts consider the escalation of the recent attacks of the Saudi coalition on Yemen as a result of the failure of this coalition to achieve its goals in Yemen. The United Nations considers the continuation of the conflict in Yemen and the inhumane siege of this country as the reason for the occurrence of unprecedented famine and humanitarian disaster in the past century.

The ceasefire in Yemen, which has been repeatedly violated by the aggressor Saudi coalition, has been extended for another two months following the United Nations consultations to renew it.
