Will Syria return to the Arab League?

While the meeting of the Arab League member states is scheduled to be held in Algeria on November 1 and 2, there were speculations about the possibility of Syria’s return to the Arab League.

According to the report of the International group of Pak Sahafat news agency, Hossam Zaki, Deputy Secretary General of the Arab League, said that there is no specific time for Syria’s return to the membership of the League.

He added that this issue requires the agreement of the Arab countries, which has not been fully done so far. This agreement is not far off, not as close as some think. Each side has a point of view.

While the meeting of the Arab League member states is scheduled to be held in Algeria on November 1 and 2, there were speculations about the possibility of Syria’s return to the Arab League.

About a decade ago, with the intensification of unrest in Syria, the Arab League suspended Syria’s membership.

One of the countries that have repeatedly emphasized its opposition to Syria’s return to the Arab League is Qatar. On the other hand, countries such as Iraq, UAE, Jordan and Algeria are considered to be the countries that support the return of Syria to this union.
