The father of an Israeli intelligence officer who was suspiciously killed in Israeli prison and whose arrest and murder case had been kept silent for a long time denied the official rumors about his death and accused the authorities of deliberately killing his son.
In its Friday issue, the Hebrew-language newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth followed up on the case of the father of an Israeli intelligence officer who had died in a regime military prison a few days earlier.
In this new scandal, the case concerns an Israeli intelligence officer who, due to the sensitivity of his job and the crimes attributed to the relevant Israeli authorities, does not allow the publication of information about his identity, job position and the crimes attributed to him.
According to the Israeli officer’s father, he could not interpret the word “unusual crimes” for himself, while he believes that what they attributed to his son was nothing more than a lie because after his death, the authorities informed him that his charges were espionage, treason or contact with foreign parties.
The newspaper started pursuing the case two days ago and managed to get permission from the court to publish some information about this Israeli army officer, while emphasizing that a lot of information about this person is still not allowed to publish.
The case of the Israeli sergeant, who had not yet reached the time of his trial, was suddenly closed with the announcement of his death and was withdrawn from the investigation.
Officials at the site of his death announced the new Al-Ahdath Beit Lid military prison, known as “Naviye Tesidik”, which opened in April 2021.
Prior to the officer’s death, the Israeli army banned the publication of any information related to his case and conducted all interrogations of him secretly and without informing the public.
According to information released by the Israeli army, the prisoner was transferred from a military prison in central Israel to a hospital on the evening of May 16, 2021, in critical condition, and was pronounced dead a few minutes later.
This was reported to his family that night, and an army inspection unit began an investigation into the cause of his death.
In another part of the report, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper emphasized: So far, he has not pursued such a case with such a boycott, so that even a forensic report has not been allowed to determine the cause of death in this case, and it can be said that there is no final result regarding the cause of death of this person Can be achieved.
According to the officer’s father, whose name will not be released due to the news boycott, he does not believe his son’s allegations or the Israeli army’s account of how he died.
