Turkish security forces’ operation against ISIS elements in Ankara / arrest of 8 suspects

Turkish security forces have launched an operation against elements linked to the ISIS terrorist group in Ankara.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency International Group, This Friday morning, Turkish security forces carried out an operation against ISIL-linked elements in several areas of Ankara province, resulting in the arrest of eight people.

The men, out of a total of 11 wanted, are foreign nationals and a search is under way to arrest three other suspects.

Over the past three years, Turkish security forces have carried out numerous operations to arrest terrorist elements, including ISIS, based in various cities in the country, most of which have been carried out in Ankara and Istanbul.

After the rise of the ISIS terrorist group in Iraq and Syria, Western countries accused Turkey of using ISIS as a tool to overthrow the Syrian government, in which Turkey has opened its borders to transfer these elements into Syria and allow them to travel. But Turkish officials have denied the allegations, saying they have carried out a number of operations against ISIS.
