Turkey seeks to transfer 2,500 terrorists from Syria to Ukraine

A Syrian analyst reports that 2,500 terrorists under the supervision of the Turkish intelligence service are preparing to be transferred to Ukraine and confront the Russian army.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency International group, Saeed Fars al-Saeed, a Syrian analyst on strategic security issues, stated today (Wednesday, March 2nd) that about 2,500 terrorists are preparing to enter Ukraine under the supervision of the Turkish intelligence service.

In an interview with Al-Maluma news website, he said that 2,500 terrorists present in the Syrian province of Idlib are ready to take part in the war against Syria.

The Syrian analyst added: The Turkish intelligence service will monitor the transfer of these terrorists to Poland and then Ukraine and most of these terrorists have Syrian, Arab or Chechen citizenship. Turkey is an ideal country for securing crossings for the safe passage of terrorists to Poland and from there to Ukraine to counter the Russian army.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday, a day after Moscow ordered a special military operation in the Denbas region, criticized the lack of NATO and EU assistance to Ukraine in countering Russia’s special military operation in the Denbas region, saying: “NATO’s response to the Russian attack must be more decisive, and condemnation alone is not enough. The West continues to advice on Ukraine to this day.”

Ukrainian President Vladmir Zelinsky also thanked Erdogan for supporting Ukraine on Saturday.

On the other hand, since tensions between Ukraine and Russia escalated, Turkey has repeatedly expressed its willingness to play a mediating role and has offered to hold a meeting where officials on both sides can discuss differences.

In contrast to Turkey, the Syrian presidency’s office reported Damascus’ support for Moscow’s position on Ukraine, citing a phone call from President Bashar al-Assad to his Russian counterpart.
