Trump blames his son-in-law for the 2020 election defeat

The New York Times quoted a spokesman for Trump’s top White House aides as saying that the president had pointed the finger at his son-in-law and said that if the 2020 presidential election was not good for Trump’s campaign, it was all Kushner’s fault.

During a meeting in the White House office in August 2020, President Donald Trump shouted about the Corona pandemic over Jared Kouchner, his son-in-law and senior adviser who advocated wearing a mask and said: you kill me! That’s all! We’ve all had these damn things. I want to do what Mexico did. They will not test you until you get to the emergency room and you feel better.

The meeting was reportedly scheduled for August 19, 2020, and Trump was outraged after his 2016 election campaign adviser, Tony Fabrizio, reported that the use of face masks was acceptable even among Trump supporters.

Fabrizio’s views were supported by Kouchner, who saw the use of the mask as a “direct method” and a “solution” that could be a way to reappear in restaurants, ceremonies and other public places.

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, however, disagreed, saying the issue was leading to unrest. His remarks sounded convincing, prompting Trump to announce that he was not ordering the use of a mask.

While preparing for the debate, Trump told his son-in-law: “I’m losing, and it’s your fault because you’re testing the corona too much!”

Trump shouted, “This is the job of the Democrats!” They are against me! They want to wait!

Trump was reluctant to wear a mask, and only did so when he contracted Covid-19 in October 2020.
