The case of “Abu Aqla” was referred to the Criminal Court Information Collection Unit

Pak Sahafat – The International Criminal Court has referred the complaint against the Zionist regime to its intelligence and evidence collection unit for the testimony of Shirin Abu Aqleh, a Palestinian reporter of Al Jazeera.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Sputnik news agency, the trade union of Palestinian journalists announced in a statement that the Information and Evidence Collection Unit of the International Criminal Court responded to the complaint of this union, the International Union of Journalists and Abu Aqleh’s family, and the International Center for Justice for Palestinians, and wrote that it added the initial information to its information collection and sent it to the relevant officers for further investigation.

The Intelligence and Evidence Collection Unit of the International Criminal Court noted that this response does not mean that the prosecution has decided on the substance of your letter.

The trade union of Palestinian journalists considered this action as a correct but insufficient step and added that it is appropriate to conduct the investigation process to try the murderers and achieve justice for our colleague “Abu Aqla” as soon as possible.

Qatar’s Al Jazeera channel previously announced that it filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court accusing the Israeli regime of killing Abu Aqla, who was martyred last May in the Jenin camp in the north of the West Bank.

Last month, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced the beginning of an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing of Palestinian-American journalist Abu Aqla while covering the Israeli army’s attack on the Jenin camp in the northern West Bank.

Washington suggested last July that the Israeli army may be responsible for Abu Aqla’s murder, while the Palestinian side announced at the end of May that its investigation showed that he was shot by an Israeli soldier.

Abu Aqla’s martyrdom is not the first case in the Zionist regime’s murder of reporters and journalists, because according to Palestinian media reports, this regime has killed 45 journalists since 2000 and the beginning of the second intifada of the Palestinian people.
