Khalifa Haftar demanded a roadmap and holding elections in Libya

Pak Sahafat – Khalifa Haftar, the Commander-in-Chief of the Eastern Libyan Forces, demanded a road map and hold elections for this country to get out of the current situation and asked the United Nations to fulfill its responsibilities towards the country.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report on Sunday, quoting Sputnik news agency, in a speech in Benghazi in eastern Libya, Haftar added: We remember that we were the first to call for free, fair and transparent elections and that the UN delegation should take responsibility for solving the Libyan crisis.

He invited all the cities and regions of western Libya to the Libyan-Libyan dialogue and the reunification of Libyans and said that the Libyan nation holds full responsibility for today’s crisis on those who divided the Libyans into several groups and illegally gained control of some areas.

Haftar also emphasized on the integrity of Libya and the protection of its national sovereignty and added: The integrity of Libya is a red line and we will not allow it to be violated, Libya is still integrated and indivisible.

In these words, he also spoke about the “last chance” to draw a road map and hold elections in Libya and demanded a fair and non-discriminatory distribution of his country’s oil revenues.

Nearly 12 years have passed since the Libyan revolution and the overthrow of the country’s dictator Muammar Gaddafi, Libya has not yet seen peace and is still facing many challenges.

After the fall of Muammar Gaddafi, Libya faced a civil war and this country was practically divided into two parts by a foreign conspiracy; The “Government of National Unity of Libya” was supported by countries such as Qatar, Turkey, some European countries and the United Nations, and countries such as Egypt, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates also supported the army of Khalifa Haftar, a retired general based in “Benghazi” and “Tobruk”.
