Pak Sahafat – Ziad al-Nakhala, secretary general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, said Monday night that the 11-day battle of the Holy Sword (Saif al-Quds) had changed the Palestinians’ outlook and mentality for a real and serious victory, but gradually.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Speaking to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar on the first anniversary of the Quds Sword War, al-Nakhala stated that the Palestinians will be able to consolidate their victory with the means at their disposal, because, according to him, today the Palestinian fighters are fighting against the enemy with the weapons they have made with their own hands.
The Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement stated that the battle of the “Sword of Quds” was a great achievement: “This battle emphasizes the possibility of victory over the enemy.”
He added that the conflict between Palestine and the Zionists is still going on. The Zionist regime has agreed to build 4,000 new housing units, and the terrorism of the Zionist military and settlers against the Palestinian people to evict them from their homes or kill them has intensified.
Al-Nakhala said that “the resistance is in a state of constant readiness against the enemy by developing its capabilities, noting that the Palestinians have a lot of opportunities to fight the enemy, but the main thing is to maintain the spirit of resistance.”
He said that the main goal of the resistance groups was the complete liberation of the Palestinian territories from the occupiers, which, of course, has not yet been achieved.
Al-Nakhala added: “The Palestinians are confronting the actions of the Zionists with individual and collective initiatives and with various methods of popular and armed struggle.”
The Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement stated: Undoubtedly, the battle of the Sword of Jerusalem had great and important achievements and paved the way for the Palestinian people to win the Zionist project in the region, but in my opinion, it is not a complete victory. This battle opened our vision and mentality about the possibility of a complete and real victory and showed that victory can be achieved with few possibilities.
He praised the solidarity of Islamic countries and other countries in the world with the 11-day Sword of Quds War, and said that if the war continued, there would be more support.
Al-Nakhala said: I want to convince the Arab citizens that we are in a constant state of war with the Zionist enemy. We are a people who have been occupied and oppressed, and every nation is obliged to resist and fight in these conditions. We call on the Arabs not to say that the resistance was victorious and that everything was over and we got rid of it; rather, we opened new horizons in the fight against the enemy, and now we need the support of the Arab nations.

In another part of his speech, he referred to the issue of the Zionist regime’s responsibility and added: The regime does not abide by any of the agreements it has signed with the PA; the number of Zionist settlers in the West Bank has reached 800,000.
Al-Nakhala addressed the officials of the Palestinian Authority and added: “The more you move towards coexistence and compromise with the enemy, the more you will find yourself in front of an action that the enemy has imposed on you so that you will finally surrender to it.”
He added: If we fight and resist the enemy and the Israelis feel threatened; As happened last year in Gaza and the Zionists failed to protect the 15,000 settlers around the Gaza Strip, the enemy will definitely retreat.
Al-Nakhala considered the best action against the Zionist enemy not to allow the resistance groups to calm down the enemy and added: These groups must always create problems for the Zionists and force the enemy to always think of a way to solve its challenges.
He added: The experience of the Zionist regime in southern Lebanon is proof of this; because the Zionist enemy does not even tolerate a single loss of life in wars. So the Palestinian solution is to continue the conflict, in the sense that they have to go to a new battle with the sword of Jerusalem every day.
Nakhaleh stating that we are against holding elections in the current situation and in the shadow of the occupation, said: If we fight, we will win, but if we accept coexistence, the Zionist side is comfortable and has no problems, and is even ready to provide economic and security facilities.
The Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement added to the officials of the Palestinian Authority with an implicit irony: The Zionist side should not feel that it can silence the Palestinian side through negotiations.
The Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement stressed that all Palestinians should know that Israel is not a party that can be negotiated and reached an agreement, and that we must adjust our plans accordingly.
He described the national unity of the Palestinian people in the fight against the enemy and not in the negotiations, adding that the Palestinian fighters had paved the way for national unity.
In the end, al-Nakhala described the true national unity of the Palestinians as the current battle between the resistance forces in the West Bank and the Zionist regime.
Tuesday coincided with the first anniversary of the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip, which lasted 11 days and ended with the announcement of a ceasefire at dawn on Friday, May 21.
The spark for this war was sparked by the events that have been taking place since April 2021 in the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Palestinian resistance groups have chosen the name Sword of Jerusalem for their operations in the war, while Israel has called its military operation in Gaza a “guardian of the walls.”
According to Israeli sources, during the 11-day war, resistance groups fired more than 4,000 rockets at southern cities and the center of the occupied territories, killing 12 Israelis and wounding about 330 others, according to Israeli sources.
On the other hand, the war left more than 200 Palestinian martyrs and thousands injured, exacerbated the economic situation of the residents of the Gaza Strip and left about $ 479 million in damage, according to official figures.
