Why did Mahmoud Abbas go to Jenin?

Pak Sahafat – Following the publication of news that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas reprimanded the security forces of the Palestinian Authority and ordered them to settle in the city of Jenin in the West Bank, Mahmoud Abbas himself visited this city considered to be in line with the implementation of Israeli orders to deal with the Palestinian resistance forces there.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report on Wednesday from Shahab news agency, despite security coordination with the Zionist regime, Mahmoud Abbas, head of the Palestinian Authority, said in a speech in the Shan camp while surrounded by security forces: I say very clearly, we will cut off the hand that reaches towards the unity, security and stability of the Palestinian people.

He added: “We do not accept aggression and we will not remain silent about it and we will continue to resist.”

Abbas continued: We came to Jenin to say that we have one authority, one government, one law, one security and one stability.

According to Palestinian media reports, Mahmoud Abbas visited Jenin today along with a significant number of security forces.

These statements of Mahmoud Abbas were made while earlier news sources announced that “Mahmoud Abbas”, the head of the Palestinian Authority, reprimanded the security forces of this organization and ordered them to be stationed in Jenin from today.

Mahmoud Abbas has also reprimanded the security commanders of the Palestinian Authority for losing control of the city of Jenin.

A high-ranking source in Ramallah also emphasized that Abbas severely reprimanded the PA security commanders for their inability to protect two leaders of the Fatah movement.

“Mahmoud Al-Awal” and “Azzam Al-Ahmad” are leaders of the Fatah movement who planned to participate in the burial ceremony of the martyrs of Jenin, but they were rejected from that ceremony.

In Abbas’s meeting with security commanders, radical changes in the functioning of the security apparatus in Jenin were emphasized and it was announced that this is a basic condition for receiving aid in the direction of rebuilding the Jenin camp.

According to the same report, the Fatah movement has an internal dispute regarding the Jenin issue, and this makes it difficult to implement the new policies of the Palestinian Authority.

In light of the unfavorable situation of the Palestinian Authority and the danger of its collapse, the Zionist cabinet is going to hold a meeting and examine the ways to help and provide facilities to this organization.

Channel 13 of the Zionist regime, quoting informed security sources, announced that the cabinet of this regime intends to provide civil and economic facilities to the Palestinian Authority in the wake of reducing the authority of the Palestinian Authority over the north of the West Bank and the recommendations and pressures of the United States.

In this meeting, the Zionist government cabinet will review the provision of limited economic rewards to the Palestinian Authority, including increasing the number of loan installments, increasing the working hours of Al-Karama crossing and issuing biometric passports.

According to the report of the Zionist regime’s Channel 13, some political sources also announced that the regime’s cabinet is seeking to restore special permits to the big personalities of the self-governing organization; the licenses that were canceled following the movements of these officials in the United Nations.

On the other hand, the American officials also expressed their concern about the decrease in the power of the self-governing organizations in the meeting with the political and security officials of the Zionist regime and emphasized the need to help them.

Last week, the city and camp of Jenin witnessed a fierce confrontation between the Palestinian fighters and the attack of the Zionist forces there. The Palestinian fighters engaged in a 24-hour battle with the occupying forces and inflicted casualties and damages on them. The expansion and strengthening of resistance in the West Bank, especially in Jenin and Nablus in the north of this region, and the implementation of numerous and diverse anti-Zionist operations in this region and Jerusalem and inside the occupied territories of 1948 have greatly worried the Zionist leaders. They are extremely dissatisfied with the performance of the self-governing organization and in a telephone call with Abbas and his advisers, they pressured him to use the security forces of the self-governing organization to expand their control over the West Bank and arrest and suppress the resistance forces.

“Ishaq Herzog”, the president of the Zionist regime, also emphasized on the decisive fight against the Palestinian fighters (which he called terrorism) in a phone call with “Mahmoud Abbas”, the head of the Palestinian Authority.

The Prime Minister of the Zionist regime recently said in a meeting with the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Knesset (Parliament) that this regime is preparing for the transition period from Mahmoud Abbas.

He added: We need the autocratic organization and we must prevent its collapse, we are ready to provide financial assistance to it, because it is in our interest to preserve it. This organization works for us in its presence area.

According to political experts, today’s visit of Abbas to the city of Jenin and his statement that “we have one authority, one government, one law, one security and one stability” is an act of expansion and in line with the implementation of the orders of the Zionist leaders to deal with the Palestinian resistance.
