New US plan to create crisis in Syria / is the reconstruction of the opposition in Damascus underway?

In a recent article, Atwan referred to a new US plan to create unrest in the region, particularly in Syria.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency International Group, following the recent US moves in the region, especially in Syria, and at the same time as the US efforts to strengthen ISIS and announce the death of the leader of this terrorist group, questions arise about these events and the goals that Washington is pursuing.

In this context, “Abdul Bari Atwan”, a prominent analyst in the Arab world and editor-in-chief of “Rai Al-Youm” newspaper, examined this issue in his new article and announced: Given the escalation of US political, military, and economic tensions with its European allies on the one hand, and the China-Russia-North Korea-Iran quadrilateral axis on the other, there are indicators of activating crises and conflicts in the Middle East that begin in Syria and Iraq passes and the war in Yemen ends.

Atwan added: Let us temporarily put aside the developments in Iraq and Yemen and focus on the Syrian issue in this article. In recent years, Syria has experienced an atmosphere of relative calm after the recapture of more than 70 percent of its territory by the Syrian Arab Army and its allies, and of course areas in northeastern Syria are under American control.

The well-known analyst in the Arab world continued his article by pointing out the characteristics that it is related to the efforts of the Syrian opposition at the international and regional levels to create a crisis in the country, and its goal is to create a more severe situation in the country than the 2011 Syrian crisis. These indicators are classified as follows:

Russia’s foreign intelligence service said in a report on Tuesday that the United States intends to mobilize armed groups in Syria, especially extremist groups, to intensify its attacks on Syrian forces and their allies, while at the same time supporting and inciting unrest in Syria. Accordingly, the United States intends to take advantage of the economic and livelihood crisis in Syria, which has arisen as a result of Washington’s suffocating blockade of the country, to achieve these goals.

The US government is seeking to maintain its military presence in northeastern Syria and create a crisis in the country by uniting Syrian opposition groups from all walks of life, according to a statement issued by the Russian intelligence service. Washington also plans to launch mass media campaigns to deceive public opinion, drawing Syrians into the streets and squares of Damascus and the major cities of Aleppo, Homs and Latakia.

A two-day conference in Doha called by fugitive Syrian Prime Minister Riyad Hijab, attended by representatives of several Qatari, Arab and international think tanks, and more than 50 Syrian dissidents, has been held since the beginning of this week. Qatari officials fully supported the conference, and its meetings were widely covered by Al Jazeera and other media outlets.

Efforts by Algeria and some other Arab countries to hold an Arab summit in the presence of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad have so far failed.

There is no documentary evidence of the killing of Abu Ibrahim al-Qurashi, the leader of the takfiri-terrorist group ISIS, by US Special Forces in northern Idlib. Thus, the announcement of al-Qurashi’s assassination may be similar to the scenario of the assassination of former ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and former al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, as the only cover for a new US plot; a conspiracy aimed at supporting extremist armed groups. In this way, the United States intends to continue its contact with these groups more than before, and at the same time claims that it is targeting terrorist groups.

Atwan added in article: Orient Net, which actually operates as a news agency for the Syrian opposition, said in a report released two months ago that the administration of US President Joe Biden intends that 2022 be the year of rebuilding the Syrian opposition forces so that they are better prepared to replace another regime in Syria in the event of anything that happens.

According to Atwan, the network revealed that US Undersecretary of State for Near East Affairs Ethan Goldrich met with Syrian opposition leaders in Istanbul and Qamishli (a Syrian Kurdish city) late last year to prepare them for a new US scenario in Syria.

Abdul Bari Atwan wrote at the end of his article: But will the new US plan be implemented in Syria? Will the conspiracy hatched by the United States through its suffocating siege against Syria come to fruition? Will the United States have a better chance of implementing its plans than in 2011? Will this project be re-financed by the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, and what will be the reaction of Russia-China-Iran-North Korea-Syria? We will receive answers to these questions over the coming weeks and months.
