America on the shadow of Iran in the region; Biden after meeting with the crown prince of Saudi Arabia

Pak Sahafat – Since the resumption of the new round of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia with the mediation of China, the United States of America has intensified its regional activities with Riyadh, and following the meeting of the Iranian Foreign Minister with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, US President Joe Biden is also looking to meet him.

American officials announced that President Biden is considering a meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the upcoming G20 meeting.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, four well-informed sources told the Axios website on Monday local time that the US president is considering a meeting with Mohammed bin Salman on the sidelines of next month’s G20 meeting in New Delhi.

According to Axios, the meeting of the two leaders could give a lot of energy to the White House’s negotiations with the government of Saudi Arabia on a major agreement including Washington’s security guarantees for Riyadh, as well as the normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israeli regime.

But Biden will likely have to get congressional approval for the deal as well. Many Democrats have highly critical views of bin Salman because of Saudi Arabia’s human rights record and the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

US officials have previously told Axios that the US administration wants to complete its diplomatic efforts with Saudi Arabia before the start of Biden’s presidential campaign.

Several issues remain between the United States and Saudi Arabia. These issues include a possible defense treaty between Washington and Riyadh and possible US support for Saudi Arabia’s civilian nuclear program and uranium enrichment in this country.

A source familiar with the matter said that US and Saudi officials have been discussing the possibility of a meeting between Biden and Mohammed bin Salman during the G20 summit for weeks, even before White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan’s trip to Saudi Arabia in July.

Two other informed sources announced the possibility of holding such a meeting, but emphasized that this meeting has not been finalized yet. The spokesperson of the National Security Council of the White House said that there is no news to announce at this time. The Saudi embassy in Washington, D.C., did not respond to a request for comment.

Hossein Amir abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia on August 26, met and talked with Saudi officials, including the Crown Prince of this country, Mohammad bin Salman.

These meetings took place while the relationship between the two countries had been completely severed for years. Saudi Arabia has shown it eager to invest in Iran and has welcomed reconciliation and dialogue with Iran.

Following this trip, the US State Department immediately announced that Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken had a telephone conversation with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, about bilateral, regional and Ukraine issues.

In the new round of relations between Tehran and Riyadh, the first meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries was held in Beijing with the presence of the Chinese foreign minister, who in a joint statement emphasized the expansion of bilateral relations and cooperation.

The American newspaper Wall Street Journal reported that the United States of America and Saudi Arabia have agreed on the framework and general terms of the process of normalizing relations between Riyadh and Israel.

The American newspaper Wall Street Journal wrote in a report: According to American officials, the United States and Saudi Arabia agreed on the broad general terms of Saudi Arabia’s agreement to recognize Israel in exchange for concessions to the Palestinians, security guarantees from the United States, and civilian nuclear assistance.

According to the Wall Street Journal, US officials expect to have a more comprehensive plan within the next year, but have warned that the effort will not be easy to achieve.

Following the publication of the American Wall Street Journal report that the United States and Saudi Arabia have agreed on the framework and general conditions of the process of normalizing relations between Riyadh and Israel, American officials have withdrawn from this report one after another.

Matthew Miller, the spokesman of the US State Department, told reporters about the Wall Street Journal report at a news conference in Washington that day: I have seen reports about the normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel, and I think they are greatly exaggerating the reality of the situation.

At the same time, Miller said: We are still talking about the normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel. The US Secretary of State has personally traveled to the region to discuss this issue.
