Unprecedented softness of Muhammad bin Salman towards Ansarullah Yemen

In a recent interview, the Saudi Crown Prince described Ansarullah as having an Arab-Yemeni temperament and approach, and spoke of the need for dialogue.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in his latest interview with the unprecedented literature on the Yemeni Ansarullah movement, took a stand, saying that the “Houthis” have an Arab and Yemeni character.

In an interview with Al-Arabiya, bin Salman reiterated the Saudi government’s plan to end the conflict and called on the Yemeni Ansarullah movement to sit down with all Yemeni groups and currents at the negotiating table to ensure the rights of all Yemenis and the interests of the region. (The Sanaa government has emphasized that it will not negotiate military and political issues until the comprehensive siege is lifted and humanitarian issues are resolved.)

The Saudi Crown Prince continued to try to enter through diplomacy with unprecedented literature, saying that the “Houthis” have Yemeni and Arab temperaments and that he hopes to prioritize his own interests and those of Yemen before prioritizing anything.

This literature of bin Salman, despite the constant accusations against the Ansarullah movement, differs from his tone of the past six years, as he has always referred to Ansarullah as “militias affiliated with Iran.”

He went on to claim that Saudi Arabia’s concern about Ansarullah gaining power in Yemen was normal: “No country accepts militias or an armed organization operating on its borders.”

Mohammed bin Salman then said that the Saudi government’s plan for a ceasefire and economic aid was conditional on the presence of “Houthis” at the negotiating table. He did not mention the nature of the aid.

According to Fars, two months ago, at the end of the sixth year of the military invasion of Yemen, Saudi Arabia proposed an initiative that Riyadh claims seeks peace in Yemen.

However, the Yemeni National Salvation Government, of which Ansarullah is a part, called the plan unrealistic and a repeat of the aggressors’ demands, and called for an end to ground and air strikes and the lifting of the six-year siege of Yemen as a first step towards a ceasefire.
