Continuation of the crisis in the Zionist regime; Netanyahu and Gantz shout at each other in the cabinet

Following the political stalemate of the Zionist regime, in yesterday’s cabinet meeting, when Netanyahu tried to appoint a person loyal to him as Minister of Justice, the meeting became controversial and a war of words.

The Israeli cabinet meeting erupted yesterday after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tried to appoint a loyalist to the post of Minister of Justice despite opposition from the Attorney General.

Following Netanyahu’s action, which the Attorney General called illegal, the Supreme Court of the Zionist regime issued an order banning it on Tuesday night, and the court is scheduled to hold a hearing today (Wednesday) to consider this issue.

In the past two years, the Zionist regime has held four consecutive fruitless elections amid a long-running political crisis, largely stemming from Netanyahu’s trial and his attempts to block them.

According to the report, according to a previous agreement of the coalition cabinet, the Minister of Justice must be a member of the Blue and White Party led by Bani Gantz. This agreement will be valid until a new cabinet is formed.

Gantz himself was in charge of the ministry until his interim appointment expired last month.

The controversy began when Netanyahu ignored Attorney General Avihai Mendelbit’s legal view that the post should be filled to make Corona-related decisions. Netanyahu convened a cabinet meeting on Tuesday after the Supreme Court ruled that a vote should be held to appoint a new justice minister.

He and his party prevented Gantz from reappointing him, and later announced that he intended to appoint Likud-based Ophir Aconis to his party. When Mendeleev intervened, declaring such a move illegal, Netanyahu cut him off and voted for him anyway.

After an exchange of shouts and accusations between Gantz and Netanyahu, the Blue and White Party boycotted the vote and the Likud party voted in favor. The hearing was marred by the attorney general’s insistence that Akonis’ appointment be revoked, after which the attorney general announced his position to the Supreme Court, which barred Netanyahu from acting a few hours later.

In another unprecedented move, Netanyahu demanded that his position in the Supreme Court be presented not by the Attorney General but by a private lawyer. He also asked the court to give him 48 hours to reach an agreement with Gantz.

Netanyahu has been charged with three counts of corruption, fraud, abuse of public trust and accepting bribes. He has denied the allegations against him, accusing law enforcement agencies and the media of opposing him. The first hearing in Netanyahu’s “4,000 corruption” case was held recently. Netanyahu later described his trial as a “coup attempt.” The Prime Minister of the Zionist regime had already appeared in court on the 20th of Bahman and, together with his accomplices in the corruption cases against him, had denied all the accusations.
