Members of the Human Rights Council: Al-Khalifa should release the political prisoners of Bahrain

Pak Sahafat – The member states of the Human Rights Council asked the Al-Khalifa government in Bahrain to respect the religious freedoms of Shiites and release political prisoners in this country.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, “Marah Al-Bahrein” information platform announced today (Tuesday) that during the assessment of the human rights situation in Bahrain, Ireland called for the support of the religious freedoms of the Shiites and the accountability of the officials of the Al-Khalifa regime for the violation of human rights and called for the creation of space for political actions in Bahrain.

Ireland also called on the Al-Khalifa government to stop the use of torture against prisoners and release all those arbitrarily arrested for their beliefs and activities.

The American government, which has a completely fraudulent face, demanded the removal of restrictions on holding peaceful gatherings and organizations in Bahrain and the release of all people who have been arrested for using the right to freedom of expression.

England and Portugal also advised the government of Bahrain to support the freedom of the press and stop the execution, and also demanded to protect the rights of children who have been denied the right to citizenship.

Since February 14, 2011, Bahrain has seen a popular uprising against the Al-Khalifa regime. Bahraini people want freedom, establishment of justice and elimination of discrimination and the establishment of an elected military in their country.

During the popular uprising in Bahrain, thousands of people have been martyred or injured, and the Al-Khalifa government has also stripped hundreds of Bahrainis of their citizenship.

Human rights groups have repeatedly condemned Al-Khalifa’s government for suppressing the opposition and demanded reforms in the country’s political system.
