Pak Sahafat – By publishing statistics, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria revealed the extent of the looting of the country’s oil and the damage caused by the US to this part of its resources.
According to the report of Pak Sahafat News Agency, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized today that America and its mercenaries are still violating Syria’s sovereignty and looting its strategic resources.
By sending a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council, Syria asked these two international institutions to stand against these hostile aggressions and violations of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter. A violation by the United States and its military forces that are illegally present in Syria.
The official Syrian news agency (SANA) reported, quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, that the continued violation of Syrian sovereignty and the looting of the country’s resources by the United States and its mercenaries are aimed at increasing the effectiveness of sanctions and increasing the problems of the Syrian people.
The American occupiers are illegally occupying areas in the north and northeast of Syria in the provinces of Deir Ezzor, al-Hasakah and Raqqa, where the largest oil and gas fields of Syria are located.
The Syrian government has repeatedly announced through official channels that the presence of the American army in Syria is occupation and government theft with the aim of stealing the country’s oil.
According to this letter, the amount of damage caused to the oil sector by the US and its mercenaries amounts to 115 billion dollars from the period of 2011 to the first half of 2023.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has given the amount and volume of these damages separately and as follows:
– Theft and waste of 341 million barrels of oil. The US loots 100 to 130 thousand barrels of oil from Syria every day, which has reached 150 thousand barrels in the recent period. This country has stolen 50 million cubic meters of gas and 413 thousand tons of domestic gas worth 21 billion dollars.
– Destruction and theft of structures amounting to 3 billion and 200 million dollars. The bombing of oil and gas structures by the so-called anti-ISIS coalition has damaged two billion and 900 million dollars.
– Indirect damages amount to 87 billion dollars, which is caused by the decrease in production compared to normal conditions.
In the end, Damascus emphasized that the Americans should be held accountable for these thefts and the government of this country should be required to pay compensation and end its illegal presence.
In order to protect the occupied areas and prevent the intensification of popular movements against the presence of these soldiers in Syria, America uses the Kurdish militia known as the “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF).
These separatist militias, funded by Washington, escort oil convoys along with American forces to the Iraqi border.
In the past few days, Arab nomads of northeastern Syria entered into a conflict with them in response to the actions of the militias and took several areas under their control.
