Pak Sahafat – The Permanent Representative of Syria to the United Nations, in a speech during the Security Council meeting, emphasized that America continues to support and employ terrorist organizations and separatist militias as a tool to implement its plans for Syria and the region.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from SANA news agency, “Bassam Sabbagh”, the permanent representative of Syria to the United Nations, said: Improving the economic and living conditions of the Syrian people requires the immediate cancellation of the coercive measures of the West and the end of the illegal foreign military presence in Syria.
The Syrian ambassador also said about the attacks of the Zionist regime on the territory of his country: the occupying regime of Israel continues to intensify the tension in the region by continuing its attacks on Syrian lands and its criminal actions against our nation in the occupied Golan Heights.

He added: Syria wants the Security Council to break its silence and fulfill its responsibilities to end the occupying and aggressive policies and hold its perpetrators accountable.
Sabbagh also emphasized about the presence of Turkish troops in Syria: the continued illegal presence of Turkish forces in Syria prevents stability in the country and the continued support and protection of terrorists.
According to the 2017 agreement between Iran, Russia and Turkey as the guarantor countries of Astana peace, four safe zones were established in Syria (reduction of tension).
Three regions came under the control of the Syrian army in 2018, but the fourth region, which includes Idlib province in the northwest of Syria and parts of Latakia, Hama and Aleppo provinces, is still in the hands of terrorist groups. It should be noted that the control of this area is mostly in the hands of the terrorist group Tahrir al-Sham (Al-Nusra Front).
At the end of the summer of 2018, the leaders of Russia and Turkey reached an agreement in Sochi, Russia, during which Turkey promised to remove or disarm the terrorists based in this region without bloodshed, which has not happened until today and the terrorists in this region every now and then they attack the Syrian military forces or the Russian base around this area.
