Hundreds of women in Kabul protested against the US seizure of Afghan assets and warned of the consequences for the Afghan people.
According to the Pak Sahafat news agency, Afghan women protest in Kabul, demanding the release of Afghan assets by the United States.
Protesters chanted slogans such as “Free Afghanistan’s blocked money” and “Children want bread, let go of our money”, stressing that US seizure of Afghanistan’s assets has exacerbated hunger in the country.
At the end of the demonstration, the women protested, reading a resolution on the consequences of the seizure of Afghanistan’s assets, warning that continued poverty and hunger in the country would lead to a flood of migration.
The resolution of the protesters states that the international community must put its humanitarian slogan into practice and call for the release of our money with one voice. “The United States must release the confiscated money of the Afghans without any conditions, because the money is the right of the people and is not the private property of any individual or government.”

Another part of the resolution states: “The United Nations and the World Bank, as the responsible institutions, must find a direct solution to the crisis in Afghanistan and convince the United States that keeping money frozen is oppression of Afghans and the dangers of this oppression will spread throughout the world.”
After the Taliban took control of Afghanistan and the ouster of former President Ashraf Ghani on August 24, the United States and other Western countries seized more than $ 10 billion in Afghan assets, a move that has plunged the country into a 20-year war.
This is the second demonstration by Kabul residents in the past week against the seizure of Afghan assets by the United States, which was held under tight security by Taliban forces.
