The United States does not have a higher position in negotiations with Iran

A retired US analyst and general said Washington has no higher position than Iran in the Vienna talks.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency a retired US analyst and general said that the administration of US President Joe Biden is more eager to reach an agreement than Iran.

Retired US analyst and General Jack Kane told Fox News on Wednesday: I believe that the Biden government is more eager than Iran to reach an agreement, and that is part of the problem.

He added: The situation was the same in 2015, and the reason why the main agreement was severely criticized this year was that the United States wanted to reach an agreement at any cost, and we are facing the same situation today.

The retired American general continued: Iran is currently enriching uranium to 60 percent, and its reserves are 10 to 12 times larger than the original agreement. The United States is trying to bring Iran back to the agreement, and it seems that Iran is not showing flexibility and its only goal is to lift sanctions.

He added: The Biden administration wants to deny everything Trump has done. I think the campaign of maximum pressure on Iran had a significant impact on their economy, but it did not bring them back to the negotiating table, and they waited to see if Trump would be re-elected.

The retired general also claimed that the United States had the strongest position in the Middle East at the time, leveraging the pressure of regional allies and their compromise agreements with Israel, known as the Ibrahim Accord.

He added: The new US administration has put all this aside, which is unfortunate, and I must say that we do not have a higher position in the negotiations.

It should be noted that the eighth round of talks on lifting the sanctions began on Monday evening (Vienna time) with a meeting of the Joint Commission chaired by Ali Bagheri, Senior Negotiator of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Enrique Moo, EU Deputy Foreign Minister.

The meeting, which was held at the Coburg Hotel with the participation of delegations from Iran, the P4 + 1 Group and the European Union, assessed the negotiation process.

The meeting also discussed how to continue the talks.
