Venezuelans’ different reception of US-affiliated opposition figures

Pak Sahafat – Nearly three years after Juan Guido was recognized as interim president of Venezuela by the United States, the opposition figure has not only failed to overthrow the legitimate government of Maduro’s presidency, but his fate has now reached the point where ordinary Venezuelans are “thrown” “Chairs” are welcomed in public places.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency report on Sunday, quoting La Semana, The release of images and videos of the expulsion of Juan Guido, the opposition leader and self-proclaimed president of Venezuela, who has been recognized by the United States since 2019, has been making headlines in cyberspace in recent hours.

Videos on social media show a group of people protesting against the presence of Guido and members of his political party at a restaurant in the San Carlos area of Cochedes, throwing them out of the restaurant by force and throwing chairs.

Pictures of Guido with his shirt almost torn and security forces trying to escape and drive him away from the scene have also been released.

Last week, Guido’s meeting in Zulia ended with a throw-in.

Venezuela’s significant economic growth after 5 years of sanctions

According to Meganálisis opinion polls, Juan Guido’s popularity is on a downward trend from 84.9% in February 2019 to 4.0% by July 30, 2021.

Following the 2018 Venezuelan presidential election, the United States has always sought to overthrow the government of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, with the support of Juan Guido, leader of the oil-rich Latin American opposition party, and the creation of discord and interference in the country’s internal affairs.

For this reason, the Maduro government sought to seriously establish political stability and then to resolve serious economic challenges in the country. Venezuela has now seen double-digit growth in the first quarter of 2022, as it strengthens its economic base and pulls out of hyperinflation.

Although the administration of US President Joe Biden has insisted on continuing to recognize Guido since he became effective, it seems that this is more of a verbal claim and Guido has become a burnt nut in the US. Contrary to what has been heard from Washington’s approach to Caracas in recent weeks (including sending a US delegation to Venezuela to hold talks with the government and easing some oil sanctions against Venezuela to resume oil contracts with some Western companies), the United States has been persuaded.

Thus, according to predictions and evidence, the fake project represented by Guido has failed, especially in recent months, by Nicolas Maduro and the Venezuelan people.
