Pak Sahafat – In a report, an American newspaper pointed out that in recent years the number of people who are being prosecuted due to threats against various government officials in the United States has increased and wrote: The wave of news about these people being arrested, imprisoned or killed is not accidental.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, quoting from USA TODAY newspaper, According to research by the National Center for Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology and Education, conducted at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, last year, FBI officials arrested more people than 10 years before. Threats have been made against government officials, law enforcement and judicial officials, teachers and health care workers.

According to a University of Nebraska research group, the number of federal prosecutions nearly doubled from 2013 to 2022, from 38 in 2013 to 74 in 2022.

These threats are increasing at the same time as Donald Trump’s trial is approaching and the 2024 US presidential election is being held.

Exactly one year ago, the US Federal Police and the Department of Homeland Security issued a joint warning about increasing threats against law enforcement officials.

The warning came days after federal agents searched Trump’s Florida home for classified documents that Trump has since been accused of keeping.

Experts warn that in this political environment and despite the trial of a leading candidate for the presidential election, there is a possibility of an increase in threatening rhetoric.

Last year, the congressional police announced in a report that the number of threats against members of Congress has more than doubled compared to four years ago.
