Turkish Defense Minister: Our priority is to fight terrorism

Pak Sahafat – Turkey’s new defense minister, Yashar Güler, said on Monday night that his country’s main priority is the serious fight against terrorism.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency from Turkey’s “Anatolia” news agency, Güler said these words during the inauguration ceremony at the headquarters of the Turkish Ministry of Defense in Ankara and during the official handover of the ministry from “Kholusi Akar”, the Minister of Defense of Erdogan’s Prime Minister.

While saying that he is very happy to be appointed as the new defense minister of Turkey, he said that the fight against terrorism will be the main priority of this ministry as before.

Güler added: The Ministry of Defense of Turkey will continue to fight against all terrorist groups that threaten the security and stability of the country until terrorism is completely eradicated.

Turkey’s new defense minister said that the security of Turkey’s border will continue to be maintained at the highest level by improving the current measures day by day.

Regarding equipping the Turkish armed forces with new war systems and equipment, he also said that all the facilities and capacities of the Ministry of Defense will be used so that all defense industry plans are realized in the shortest possible time.

Güler was elected on Saturday after Erdogan was sworn in to begin his second 5-year term as president.

The head of Turkey’s Supreme Election Council on Thursday announced the final and official results of the second round of the 13th presidential election of this country, which was held on May 24, 2023.

Ahmad Yener said: These results are definitive after the investigation of registered objections and complaints.

He added: Based on the final and definitive results of the second round of presidential elections, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been elected as the president of Turkey with 27,834,589 votes, equivalent to 52.18 percent of the people’s votes.

The head of the Supreme Election Council of Turkey added: In this election, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has won 25 million 504 thousand 724 votes, equivalent to 47.82 percent of the people’s votes.

He announced the participation rate in the 13th presidential election in Turkey at 85.72% and reported that a total of 54,23,601 people voted in this round of elections.
