The London-based watchdog said in a statement, citing local Syrian sources, that clashes with machine guns and some medium-sized weapons between elements of the Lashkar-e-Hamza group affiliated with Turkey near the city Ras al-Ain took place in the northern suburbs of al-Hasakah.

The reasons for the clashes have not yet been announced, according to Human Rights Watch, citing local sources.

Last Friday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which belongs to the Syrian opposition, also reported clashes between Turkish-affiliated groups in the Naba al-Rubaye area on the outskirts of al-Raqqa.

According to the watchdog, clashes broke out between elements of the Turkish-affiliated Ahrar al-Sharqiya and Filaq al-Sham groups with medium and heavy weapons in Ain Isa, al-Sharkrak and the Turkmen Bath in the northern suburbs of al-Raqqa. These clashes first started with the attack of the forces of Ahrar al-Sharqiya and the capture of the headquarters of “Abu Jihad al-Raqqa” and the “Al-Khattab” army affiliated to the Filaq al-Sham.

Clashes and tensions in the area have killed at least one person and injured a number of civilians in the village of al-Sharkrak, as well as a number of hostilities.

Meanwhile, the Ahrar al-Sharqiya armed group announced that it had captured three members of Lashkar-e-Khattab. These two Syrian armed groups are both affiliated with Turkey.
