The Taliban demanded the removal of the names of its officials from the UN blacklist

Pak Sahafat – Maulvi Abdul Kabir, sponsor and political deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office, in a meeting with Roza Otunbayeva, the UN representative in Afghanistan, while stressing the removal of the names of Taliban officials from the organization’s blacklist, said that international institutions such as the World Bank should resume their activities in Afghanistan and the Taliban wants good relations with the international community.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from the Afghan Voice (Ava) news agency, the Taliban’s citadel wrote in a statement that Maulvi Abdul Kabir, the sponsor and political deputy of the Taliban’s Prime Minister’s Office, met Rosa Otunbayo, the UN Secretary General’s special representative in Afghanistan.

In this announcement, the Acting Prime Minister said that the continuation of the cooperation of the United Nations with the people of Afghanistan is a good and positive point and should be increased.

He added that due to the war and corruption in the previous government, basic measures have not been taken in Afghanistan, so the assistance of the World Bank and other international institutions to Afghanistan is very important.

The sponsor of the Prime Minister’s Office also noted that the cooperation of international organizations should take place in the fields of food security, construction of dams, construction of infrastructure and creation of more cold storages.

He further emphasized that the World Bank and the international community should complete half-finished projects and international organizations should resume their offices and activities in Afghanistan, such as the World Bank.

In this meeting, the sponsor of the ministry stated that a general amnesty has been announced in Afghanistan and more than 555 government and military officials of the previous government have returned to the country through the Contact Commission.

In a meeting with the UN representative, the Acting Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said that “under the umbrella of Taliban rule, the islands of power, corruption, war and insecurity have ended and the media are active.”

Based on the statements of the Deputy Prime Minister; the international community must fulfill its obligations in removing the names of Taliban officials from the black list, and the Taliban demands active diplomacy and good relations with the international community.

He also added: Due to drought and poverty, the people of Afghanistan need more help from the international community. Afghanistan does not take more water rights than its legitimate right, if there is any concern in this regard. We can solve the concerns through dialogue and understanding.

It is also stated in this announcement that Roza Otunbayeva, the UN representative in Afghanistan, said: Our information through satellite shows that there has been a big decrease in poppy cultivation. In addition, we have asked China and India to help Afghan farmers.

The UN representative added, “We know that humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan is not enough, but we are trying to increase this aid.”

In the announcement of the Deputy Prime Minister’s office, it was said that Otunbaeva also called the Taliban’s actions in the field of prohibition of drug cultivation and trafficking effective and useful and added that the international community considers this important development as positive.

Previously, Maulvi Abdul Kabir, Acting Prime Minister, has met with a number of representatives of foreign countries.
