The Prime Minister of Finland accepted the defeat in the elections

Pak Sahafat – The 37-year-old Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, accepted defeat after the country’s parliamentary elections, and Petri Orpo, the leader of the center-right National Coalition party, declared victory.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, quoted by Finland’s “Ole” news agency, the National Coalition won 48 seats with 20.8 percent of the votes in Sunday’s elections, the far-right party “The Finns” won 46 seats with 20.1 percent of the votes, and the center-left Social Democratic Party affiliated with Marin won 43 seats with 19.9 percent of the votes.

The Finnish Parliament has 200 seats, and more than 2,400 candidates from 22 parties competed to enter the parliament.

Since none of the parties have won 50% of the votes to form the government, the National Alliance Party must form an alliance with other parties.

53-year-old Orpo said after the victory of her party: This is a great victory. We will start negotiations for the formation of the Finnish government.

She can negotiate with the Finns or the Social Democrats to form a government, but he has serious differences with both parties.

Meanwhile, Rika Pura, the 45-year-old leader of the Finns Party, which has anti-immigrant positions, said about the election results: “This is the best result we have achieved so far.”

Marin, who became prime minister in 2019 at the age of 34, accepted the defeat and said: “Congratulations to the National Alliance Party and the Finns Party.”

In the midst of the war in Ukraine, Marin took a strong stance against Russia and led her country towards NATO membership, but the release of a video of his party caused a wave of criticism to flow towards her.
