The Wall Street Journal emphasized: Israeli businessmen wearing kippahs, staying at the luxury Ritz-Carlton hotel, the venue for an upcoming investment summit, were openly shaking hands with Saudis wearing traditional Arabic dress, a sign of “evolution and Changes in the Middle East”.
Sahak Yitz Abelbaum, an American citizen who has worked in Israel’s investment field for 20 years and now manages the efforts of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, said: The Saudis were testing the situation by inviting the Israelis to the Davos Sahara conference.
Riyadh is trying to use this summit as an annual indicator to advance the economic and social changes announced by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in 2016.
Saudi officials did not respond to The Wall Street Journal’s requests to explain the presence of Israeli businessmen at the summit. Sahaq Yitz Abelbaum, who spoke at this meeting and gave advice to the Saudi ministers, wrote: Nothing happens in this country (Saudi Arabia) by chance.
He said: After revealing the news about Bin Salman’s secret meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, the former Prime Minister of Israel in 2020, it is now much easier to talk about issues related to Israel with Saudi officials.
The Wall Street Journal further wrote: Other Israelis, including the brother of Naftali Bennett, the former Prime Minister of Israel, who manages the electric truck company, were present at this meeting.

The Davos Sahara Conference was held in Riyadh for three days. After coming to power in 2017, Mohammed bin Salman organized the first Davos Sahara Conference with the participation of 3,800 people from more than 90 countries in order to compete with the annual economic conference of Switzerland and become the largest and most powerful economy in the Middle East.
