The European Union called for an end to the “deadly cycle of violence” in occupied Palestine

Pak Sahafat – Following the recent attack by Zionist settlers on Palestinian residents near the city of Ramallah, the chief spokesperson of the European Union emphasized the need to stop what he called the deadly cycle of violence and stated that the perpetrators of crimes against civilians must be held accountable.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, Peter Stano said in a press conference from Brussels: We are once again witnessing an increase in violence (between Palestine and Israel). The deadly cycle continues despite the repeated requests of the European Union and the international community from both sides to reduce tensions.

He condemned the recent events in the West Bank and stated that this union “once again emphasizes that Israel is obliged to protect the lives of civilians in the occupied territories.”

The spokesperson of the European Union added: Israel must stop the violence of the settlers and ensure that the perpetrators of this violence are held accountable. It cannot be that they continue to destroy cars and attack people by shooting and throwing stones.

Stating that the continuation of violence has caused an increase in the number of civilian casualties, he emphasized the need to start the process of meaningful negotiations and added that the European Union is ready to play its role in facilitating the talks.

Extremist and armed Zionist settlers attacked the town of “Tarmsiya” in the northeast of Ramallah city in the West Bank and set fire to Palestinian cars and houses.

The Ministry of Health of Palestine announced that in these clashes, 27-year-old Omar Qatin was martyred and dozens of other people were injured while confronting and fighting in Neshanyan settlement in Tarmsiya, located in the northeast of Ramallah.
