60 billion dollars aid from the London conference for the reconstruction of Ukraine

Pak Sahafat – The representatives of the countries and international organizations participating in the two-day summit on the reconstruction of Ukraine, which was held in London, agreed to provide 60 billion dollars in financial aid for the reconstruction of Ukraine and the revival of the war-torn economy of this country.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, the British government issued a statement on Thursday claiming that this conference is one of the biggest summits after the end of World War II.

The London conference ended with the World Bank estimating that $411 billion in financial aid is needed to rebuild Ukraine. Of this amount, 14 billion dollars are needed to invest in high-priority actions this year.

British Foreign Minister James Cleverley, who chaired the conference, said in a statement repeating the hostile positions of the West against Russia: The Ukraine Reconstruction Conference sent a clear message that we stand by Ukraine not only in the attacks of Russian President Vladimir Putin, but also in peace.

He added: As Ukraine rebuilds, we support its efforts to achieve a stronger, more resilient, sustainable and innovative economy. As the international community and a coalition of businesses, governments and civil society, we must focus our efforts to support Ukraine not only to defend its freedom but also to rebuild it.

But the conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine was held in London while the British government is trying to confiscate Russian property as war reparations. A day before the start of the conference, the British Foreign Minister announced that thousands of sanctions imposed against Moscow will not be lifted until full compensation is paid to Kiev, in continuation of the London government’s hostile stance against Russia, which is not only related to the Ukraine war, which has historical roots.

According to the announcement of the British Foreign Office, the country intends to enact laws that would confiscate property belonging to the Central Bank of Russia (CBR), the Russian Ministry of Finance (MOF) or the Russian National Wealth Fund (NWF) in this country for the benefit of Ukraine.

Germany: Russia should pay for the reconstruction of Ukraine

According to the published statement, the UK will “require individuals and entities on Russia’s financial sanctions list to disclose their assets in the UK to the UK Treasury.”

British Prime Minister Rishi Sonak, in his speech at the opening of the conference, pointed out that Ukraine’s economy has shrunk by 29% due to the war. By saying this, he concluded that Moscow should pay compensation.

In this connection, Andrey Klein, the Russian ambassador to the UK, said in an interview with Sky News yesterday that the British authorities’ attempt to confiscate Russian assets is similar to the colonial policies of London and the looting of India and Egypt.

He added: I know that England is very experienced in stealing money from different countries. India, Egypt and other countries have also been robbed, so this is another form of robbery and theft.

Klein said that according to international law, Russia’s assets belong to the country and no country but Russia can manage them, and actions contrary to this are illegal.

The war in Ukraine, which has been over a year since its beginning, was triggered by the West’s inattention to Moscow’s security concerns and the expansion of NATO forces near the borders of Russia. Moscow attacked Ukraine on March 5, 1400 after ignoring its security concerns from the West, especially the United States.

During this period, the member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), including the United States, by abandoning the diplomatic option to establish peace, continued this war-mongering with huge military support from Kiev, and now by equipping Ukraine with advanced and heavier weapons.

This is while the UK has become an active actor in the field of this battle since the beginning of the Ukraine war and by adopting anti-Russian positions, sending weapons and military equipment and imposing sanctions against Russia; it has fueled tensions and conflicts. So far, this country has sanctioned more than 1,100 Russian citizens and more than 100 Russian government organizations.
