The deadly Al-Jalil incident is Netanyahu’s excuse for taking a deadline to form a cabinet

Israeli Channel 12 reported that Benjamin Netanyahu was examining the use of the crisis in the deadly incident on Thursday night in Al-Jalil to get a longer deadline for forming a cabinet.

As Benjamin Netanyahu’s deadline for forming a cabinet expires on Tuesday this week, an Israeli media outlet reported that he is considering a recent deadly incident in occupied Palestine to extend the deadline.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that Benjamin Netanyahu is considering a request from the head of the regime, Rowan Rivlin, to extend the deadline for him to form a cabinet, in view of the deadly incident in Al-Jalil on Thursday night.

Despite not having a majority of seats in the Israeli parliament, Benjamin Netanyahu was re-appointed to form the cabinet.

Israeli President Rovin Rivlin said the decision was not an easy one, explaining that none of the candidates had the majority needed to form a new cabinet, but that Netanyahu was elected because he had more votes. Netanyahu has 28 days to work to form a cabinet and introduce it to the Knesset (Israeli parliament).

According to Rivlin, 52 members of the Knesset nominated Netanyahu for prime minister, and 45 nominated Yair Lapid, the leader of the Knesset and opposition leader in the Knesset, but he said Netanyahu had a better chance of forming a cabinet.

According to previous Zionist media reports, Netanyahu could apply for a 14-day extension if he fails to form a cabinet within the four-week deadline.

According to the Zionist newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth”, the 12th television channel of the Zionist regime reported that Netanyahu is considering asking Ryolin to extend the term of forming the cabinet due to the “Meron tragedy”.

The Zionist media refers to the “Maroon tragedy” as a deadly incident on Thursday night on Mount Maroon in the occupied Palestinian city of Al-Jalil.
