Saudi Arabia and Iran have more in common than their differences

The speaker of the Lebanese parliament took a stand on the developments between Saudi Arabia and Iran, as well as Hezbollah weapons and the negotiations on the demarcation of the Lebanese sea border with the Zionist regime.

According to Pak Sahafat news agency, welcoming the Tehran-Riyadh talks, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri stressed that Saudi Arabia and Iran have much more in common than their differences.

Regarding the Lebanese parliamentary elections, he said that he would not allow a minute of delay in the elections.

Nabih Berri added: The elections are an important turning point, and the Lebanese people must decide that the elections will be a campaign to recover Lebanon. The elections should be a new beginning for Lebanon.

Nabih Berri also said about the case of the explosion in the port of Beirut: All we want is to enforce the law and prevent the politicization of the case.

The speaker of the Lebanese parliament also said about Hezbollah weapons: As long as one wajib of Lebanese territory is under Israeli occupation, resistance and the weapon of resistance is the national need to stop Zionist greed. The weapon of resistance is the result of occupation, not the other way around.

Regarding the indirect talks between Lebanon and the Zionist regime on the demarcation of Lebanon’s water borders, he said that the US representative will be in Lebanon for a week and that the talks will resume.

Nabih Berri added: France and Total and other companies are committed to drilling and extracting gas in Lebanese waters. These companies cannot shirk their commitment.

Nabih Berri called the Tehran-Riyadh talks and the process of the Vienna nuclear talk’s positive and constructive issues, and said that what brings Saudi Arabia and Iran closer together is much more than the differences between them.

He stressed that the Arab world agreement with Iran will have a wide and positive impact on various cases, including Yemen, Syria and Lebanon.

The speaker of the Lebanese parliament, noting that he welcomes any move to bring Arab countries closer to each other, added that this path is possible only with the return of Syria to the Arab League and the return of the Arabs to Syria.
