Neutralization of the terrorist plan in Kirkuk, Iraq

The Iraqi National Security Service announced that it has succeeded in thwarting a terrorist plot in Kirkuk province.

The Iraqi National Security Service announced on Wednesday that a terrorist plot had been foiled in the northern province of Kirkuk.

The service said in a statement that after receiving key information about the movements of terrorist elements in the attack on Kirkuk province, the national security units launched a search operation.

Al-Najba news network reported, quoting the statement, that Iraqi security forces had put the pursuit of terrorist elements on the agenda in order to seize weapons and explosives belonging to them.

During the operation, two wanted terrorists were arrested. The terrorists were ISIS-affiliated intelligence elements tasked with gathering information about the movements of security forces in the province.

The elements were handed over to the Iraqi judiciary after being arrested and writing their statements.
