Moscow: The United States is fueling the fire of the Ukraine war

Russia’s ambassador to the United States has said that Washington’s military assistance to Ukraine will not help resolve the crisis in the Ukraine war, and that Washington is only fueling the fire of the Ukraine war.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency International group, Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, said today (Monday) that Washington’s new $ 800 million military aid package to Kiev would not help resolve the Ukrainian conflict.

Antonov said in an interview with Russia 24: “The issue of pumping Kiev with weapons is incomprehensible neither in Russia nor in other countries. From a journalistic point of view, what Americans are doing is pouring fuel on the fire. People are being killed because of these weapons.”

He added: “You’ve probably heard of the $ 800 million (military aid package) – that’s the amount that Washington is going to supply to Kiev.” That’s a big number. It does not help to find a diplomatic solution to the situation in this Eastern European country.”

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova had previously confirmed in an interview with RIA Novosti that Russia had sent a note to all countries, including the United States, regarding the shipment of weapons to Ukraine, but did not disclose its contents.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has stated that any shipment of weapons to Ukraine would be Russia’s legal target, and the Russian Foreign Ministry said that NATO member states were “playing with fire” by supplying arms to Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Dmitry Peskov recently stressed that pumping Ukraine with Western weapons would not contribute to the success of the Russia-Ukraine talks and would have negative effects.

In an interview, Antonov also spoke about Russia’s position on relations between Washington and Moscow, saying that Russia wants stability in relations with the United States, rather than in developing relations.

The Washington Post reported on Thursday that it had obtained a note from Russia to the United States regarding the supply of weapons to the Ukrainians. Russia has sent an official diplomatic note to Washington warning the United States and its allies about the shipment of “most sensitive” weapons systems to Ukraine and the “unprecedented consequences” of such a provocative move, the paper said.

According to the Russian news agency Tass, the US Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense announced during a visit to Kiev the United States is seeking more than $ 322 in military aid to Ukraine against Russia, with the rest going to Eastern and Central Europe and the Balkans.

According to the report, the new US military aid, along with the sale of $ 165 million worth of non-US ammunition compatible with Soviet-era weapons used by Ukrainians, brings the total US military aid to Ukraine to $ 3.7 billion since the invasion.
