Lack of son heir; the most serious challenge to the Japanese royal family

Recent events in the Japanese royal family have raised many concerns about the family’s continued political life.

According to Pak Sahafat news agency International Group, quoted by AFP, the Japanese royal family is in danger of extinction due to the lack of potential and qualified candidates to become the future empire, but some believe that the government’s proposal to increase the number of candidates is out of reach.

Under the succession laws that women are not allowed to rule in Japan, Emperor Naruhito, 61, will be replaced by Prince Hisahito in the future.

Now, if the 15-year-old Hisahito does not have a son in the future, the royal family, which dates back to 2,600 years ago, will face a shortage of heirs to continue the royal lineage.

Polls suggest a large number of people support the proposal to have women as kings in the country; Women have no political power in Japan under the post-World War II constitution.

Japanese political officials have also made two proposals in recent days. The first proposal to authorize the retention of title and public office for women of the royal family is after the time they marry someone outside the royal family; what happened to Princess Mako Comoros in October when she married a university classmate.

The second solution is to re-authorize men from the previous 11 branches of the royal family who left the royal family during the post-war reforms.

These proposals come at a time when experts believe they do not fit into the current family system in Japan.
