The 22nd Al-Hashd al-Shabi Brigade surrounded the attackers in an operation to repel a heavy night attack by ISIL elements in Salah al-Din province.
Following the terrorist attack by ISIS elements in the east of Salah al-Din province, the 22nd Al-Hashd al-Shabi Brigade, known as “Badr”, resisted the attack.
The General Information Office of the Iraqi Al-Hashd Al-Shabi Organization reported on Saturday night that the 22nd Brigade of this organization (Badr Corps) repelled a heavy attack by ISIL elements in Salah al-Din province, during which bloody clashes took place.
In these clashes, which lasted for several hours, 11 members of the popular mobilization forces were martyred and 10 others were injured. Also, 18 terrorists were killed.
In these attacks, Abu Alia Al-Hasnawi, the commander of the 22nd Brigade, was martyred.
According to Saberin News Channel, the terrorist attack was carried out with the support of American McDonnell Douglas KC-10 Extender fighters, which were patrolling the skies of the attacked area last night.

This is the second major ISIS attack in Iraq in a week. Last week, two ISIS suicide bombers blew themselves up in a local market in Baghdad, killing 32 people and wounding more than 100 others.
