In a letter to the United Nations, Iran warned of any US military adventure in the Persian Gulf

The Permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations in a letter to the Secretary General and Chairman of the Security Council warned against any US military adventure in the Persian Gulf.

The Permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations in New York on Wednesday wrote in a letter to the President of the Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations that the US military adventure in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman has increased, especially in recent weeks.

The letter states: In addition to sending sophisticated weapons to the region in the past few weeks, the United States has also carried out some provocative military actions, including launching a number of its long-range strategic bombers over the Persian Gulf in recent days.

The Iranian representative added: In parallel with these moves, US officials have continued to provide false information, baseless accusations, and threatening and provocative statements against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Added to this letter: These belligerent actions, if left unchecked, could escalate tensions to alarming levels, and it is clear that the United States will be fully responsible for all the consequences.

At the end of this letter is also stated: Because such a military adventure is in clear conflict with the goals and principles of the United Nations and has serious implications for regional and international peace and security, the Security Council is expected to force the United States to abide by the principles and rules of international law, and to stop these international actions.

According to Fars, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, on Thursday, in response to US military moves in the Persian Gulf region, stated that Iran is not seeking war but will not hesitate to defend its people, security and national interests.

Zarif wrote in a Twitter message: Instead of fighting the Corona in the United States, Donald Trump and his entourage are wasting billions of dollars to launch B-52 bombers and send fleets to our region. The information obtained from Iraq indicates a conspiracy to fabricate an excuse for war.
