At present, 31 states, as well as the federal government and the US military, carry out executions.

The gas chamber is also an alternative method of execution in seven states; Alabama, Arizona, California, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma and Wyoming.

Hanging is allowed as an alternative to execution in two states; New Hampshire and Washington.

Squadron fire is an alternative method of execution in three states; Mississippi, Oklahoma and Utah.

Tennessee also used an electric chair twice last year, and another execution is planned for the third time.

When was the last time a fire brigade was used for execution?

Utah prisoner Ronnie Lee Gardner, who was convicted of murder in 1985, was executed on June 18, 2010 by a fire brigade.

At the time, he was the first person to be executed by a fire brigade in Utah in 14 years; He chose this method instead of lethal injection.

When was the last time a gas chamber was used in an execution?
