England demanded to preserve the existing historical situation in Jerusalem

Pak Sahafat – The representative of England at the United Nations called for the preservation of the historical situation in Jerusalem at the meeting of the Security Council.

English diplomat Fergus Eckersley added on Wednesday local time at the UN Security Council meeting about Palestine: Israelis and Palestinians should show their true commitment to peace and security and the two-state solution by issuing statements and adopting their policies.

This British diplomat at the United Nations added, without referring to the crimes of the Zionist regime: Britain is opposed to all unilateral actions that make it more difficult to achieve peace, whether these actions are carried out by the Palestinian side or by the Israelis.

This British government official continued: This opposition includes the actions of the Israeli government against the Palestinian Authority, which was announced on January 6.

He stated: England wants all sides to continue to maintain the historical situation in the holy places, Jerusalem, and we ask the leaders of both sides to promote the culture of peaceful coexistence.

With his country’s constant support for the Zionist regime, he claimed: Israel, while protecting its legitimate security interests, should exercise maximum restraint in the use of ammunition and military weapons.

At the same time, this British diplomat said: In the first three weeks of this year, 14 Palestinians, including 3 children, have been killed by Israeli security forces.

He claimed: restoring stability and ensuring peace is still possible, but it requires the efforts of all parties and moving towards a two-state solution.

In this statement, more than 90 member states of the United Nations, while expressing concern about Tel Aviv’s actions against the West Bank, asked this regime to cancel the sanctions against the Palestinian Authority.

57 members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and 37 other countries of the world, including 27 European countries such as France, Germany and Italy, as well as Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico and South Africa, have signed this statement.

Stephanie Tremblay, Deputy Spokesperson of the United Nations, also said on Monday local time: The Secretary General of the United Nations is deeply concerned about Israel’s recent actions against the Palestinian Authority.

The General Assembly of the organization approved with a majority of votes Palestine’s request to issue a legal inquiry by the International Court of Justice regarding the nature of Israel’s occupation.

87 countries voted in favor of this resolution, which has no implementation guarantee, 26 countries voted against and 53 countries abstained.

These 87 countries have asked the Hague International Court to provide a definition of the nature of occupation.

The extreme cabinet of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved measures to “punish the Palestinians”, which is interpreted as a form of “revenge”; Because the Palestinians have asked the highest judicial body of the United Nations to express its opinion about the occupation of the Israeli regime.

Although the rulings of the International Court of Justice are not binding, they can influence world opinion. This behavior of the Israeli regime shows the harsh policy that the new cabinet of this regime has adopted towards the Palestinians only a few days after taking office.
