Biden is unable to control armed violence in America and promises to fight again

Pak Sahafat – US President Joe Biden, while he has been unable to control armed violence in his country for nearly two years, promised again to deal with offensive weapons.

US President Joe Biden on Thursday promised to work to restrict assault weapons after seven people were killed in a deadly shooting at a Walmart store in the state of Virginia.

Biden, speaking to reporters outside a fire station in Nantucket, Mass., during the Thanksgiving holiday, added: “It’s disgusting that we’re allowing semi-automatic weapons to be sold.”

The American president added: This issue has no social liberating value. It doesn’t have it at all. There is no logic to it, except that it benefits the weapons manufacturers.

In response to whether Biden will try to outlaw these weapons? He said: I will try. US President Joe Biden expressed regret on Wednesday local time for the shooting at a Walmart store in Chesapeake, Virginia, which killed 7 people and is the latest mass shooting in the country.

Biden said that because of another horrific and brutal act of violence, fewer families are now celebrating Thanksgiving and we must unite as a nation and do more.

According to local authorities in the city of Chesapeake in the state of Virginia, at least seven people were killed in a shooting Tuesday night local time, by an armed person in the local branch of the Wal-Mart chain store.

The 50% increase in mass shootings in the United States is an undeniable fact that the increasing trend of injury and death caused by the attackers’ use of machine guns has turned into a human rights crisis in the United States.

The issue of mass shootings in America is always one of the human rights issues in this country. Today, mass shootings have become a human rights crisis in America. The common feature of almost all mass shootings in America is the use of machine guns by the attackers; That is, a war weapon with high-capacity magazines that causes the highest number of deaths.

It should be noted that by definition, mass shooting is different from mass murders and in some cases it is created with the aim of creating terror in people, which sometimes does not even leave a dead person. In some cases, the number of casualties is the result of people running away and bumping into each other.

The US Federal Police (FBI) recently published the statistics of shootings of citizens in public places in 2021, according to which 61 shooting incidents occurred in different states last year. In 2021, shootings of citizens increased by 50% compared to the previous year, and 103 people were killed and 140 people were injured. In 2022, according to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been at least 320 mass shootings in the United States.

In addition, according to the statistics provided (time frame of report preparation) by this organization, so far 29 thousand 626 deaths caused by gun violence have been recorded, of which about 13 thousand 588 people across the United States are due to the use of firearms, including their lives due to intentional and accidental murder.

In 2021, about 700 such shootings have occurred, which has reached this figure from 611 in 2022 and 417 in 2019, which compared to the same time period last year, this year has been associated with the highest increase.

In America, on average, a mass shooting happens once every 12.5 days.
