In other operations against terrorist cells, Iraqi army fighter-bombers attacked ISIL hideouts in Salah al-Din province yesterday (Sunday) and smashed terrorist hideouts.

This is the second operation by Iraqi army bombers in the last four days against ISIL positions and hideouts, during which three terrorists were killed.

Last Thursday, Iraqi bombers targeted ISIS positions in the al-Tarmiyah area of northern Baghdad, the capital.

ISIL, which invaded Iraq on June 8, 2014 and managed to occupy nearly 45% of the country’s territory after three days, was defeated in November 2017, but since then the dormant cells of this terrorist group are still active in Iraq and Syria.

Since the defeat of ISIS in 2017, the Iraqi army and military forces, especially the Al-Hashd al-Shabi organization, have been pursuing and hunting down the remaining elements of this terrorist group, who from time to time carry out ambushes and carry out operations against Iraqi citizens and armed forces.
