American lawmakers plan to deal with the normalization of relations with Syria

Pak Sahafat – A bipartisan group of American lawmakers have presented a plan that aims to prevent the US government from recognizing Bashar al-Assad as the president of Syria and increase Washington’s ability to impose sanctions in a warning to other countries seeking normalization.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, this plan prohibits the US federal government from recognizing or normalizing relations with any Syrian government led by Bashar al-Assad.

The United States has said that it will not normalize relations with Bashar al-Assad’s government, and the country’s sanctions against Mashak are still in force.

Joe Wilson, the chairman of the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia subcommittee in the House of Representatives, claimed: The countries that have decided to normalize their relations with Bashar al-Assad, the murderer and drug trafficker, are on the wrong track.

The plan was proposed by Wilson and supported by House Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Michael McCall and co-chairs of the Free, Democratic and Stable Syria Caucus, Republican French Hill and Democrat Brendan Boyle.

In November 2011, with the beginning of the crisis in this country, the Arab League suspended the membership of Damascus in this union and since then imposed political and economic sanctions against this country, a member of the anti-Zionist Islamic Resistance Front.

The spokesman of the White House claimed that this decision does not mean a solution to the Syrian crisis.

White House Spokesperson Karin Jean-Pierre said on Monday local time: As the Secretary General of the Arab League announced, this decision does not mean the normalization of the relations of all the member countries of this union with Damascus and does not mean the resolution of the Syrian crisis.

The spokesman of the White House added: Our partners have announced that they intend to engage directly with the Assad regime to advance priorities such as achieving a solution to the Syrian crisis, expanding humanitarian access, creating safe conditions for the return of migrants, preventing ISIS and confronting Drug trafficking is “Captagon”.

Jean-Pierre claimed: Although we doubt Assad’s readiness to solve the Syrian crisis, we are aligned with our Arab partners in terms of the final goals.

The spokesman of the White House added: We are aware of the plans of the Arab countries and we have clearly stated that we will not normalize our relations with the Assad government. Our sanctions, including Caesar’s law, are fully implemented. We still want a political solution based on the Security Council resolution.
