President of Pakistan: The reconciliation between Iran and Saudi Arabia will remain in history

Pak Sahafat – The President of Pakistan considered the wisdom of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia to resume diplomatic relations as a great achievement and said that the reconciliation and peace of these two countries will remain in history.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, “Arif Alavi” wrote in a note about the recent events in Pakistan, especially the rise in political tensions and hostility between parties that, all stakeholders should put the spirit of tolerance and self-restraint at the forefront of their work, because without mutual understanding and tolerance, it is not possible to subside the crisis.

He emphasized that everyone should reconsider their thoughts in order to establish peace and reconciliation, and a clear example of that is the significant and great peace between Iran and Saudi Arabia, which made the two countries reach the ideal goal.

Praising the positive role of China and its efforts in promoting reconciliation between Tehran and Riyadh, the President of Pakistan added: We salute the leaders of Iran and Saudi Arabia, who led to a peace that will be recorded in history through revision and fundamental change.

Alavi added: The wisdom and constructive thinking of the great statesmen of Iran and Saudi Arabia made the preparations to end several decades of hostility, so why should we not apply this approach in Pakistan, so we should be calm and deal with issues with tolerance.

Senator Mushahid Hussain, an expert on strategic affairs and chairman of the defense committee of the Senate of Pakistan, also wrote in an article for the English-language newspaper “Express Tribune” that Saudi Arabia and its young crown prince have taken significant decisions to restore the country’s position in the region and withdraw from past traditional measures of managing proxy wars or hostilities with Iran.

He added that in some cases the Saudis had become an ATM machine for the Americans and took orders from Washington, but this is no longer the case and this resumption of relations with Tehran has shocked and upset America.

This Pakistani senator stated that the stage of hostility in the region has ended and the peace between Iran and Saudi Arabia will greatly help harmony in the Islamic world and promote regional stability.

“Ali Shamkhani”, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, started intensive negotiations with his Saudi counterpart in China in order to follow up on the agreements of Raeesi’s visit to Beijing in February. At the end of these negotiations, a tripartite statement for “resolving disputes”, “adherence to the principles and goals of the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and international principles and procedures” was signed by Shamkhani, the representative of the Supreme Leader and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, “Mosed Bin Mohammad Al-Aiban, Minister of Advisor and member of the Council of Ministers and National Security Advisor of Saudi Arabia, and Wang Yi, member of the Political Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and head of the Office of the Central Committee of Foreign Affairs of the Party and member of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.

In this statement, which was signed on the 19th of March, it was stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will resume their diplomatic relations and reopen their embassies and agencies within two months, and the foreign ministers of the two countries are scheduled to meet each other to implement this decision and make the necessary arrangements for the exchange of ambassadors.
