Pakistani magazine’s narrative of Tehran-Islamabad’s efforts to develop trade minus the dollar

Pak Sahafat – In its latest report on the growing trend of bilateral cooperation between this country and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan’s widely published magazine “Jang” wrote that Tehran and Islamabad are trying to take new steps to develop the clearing mechanism in bilateral trade and support commercial exchanges minus the dollar and use local currencies.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, the Urdu-language newspaper Jang Chap, published in Rawalpindi, wrote in its exclusive report today on the front page of this newspaper, quoting high-ranking official sources of the Pakistani government: The horizon for the expansion of bilateral trade between Iran and Pakistan is brighter and the two countries have adopted a more serious approach to abandoning the dollar and using local currencies.

It is stated in this report: Tehran and Islamabad have reached reassuring agreements to resolve the technical issues related to Iran’s gas transmission pipeline to Pakistan, and at the same time, to increase economic cooperation, they have taken practical steps to implement the mechanism of local currencies and clearing in commercial exchanges.

Jang newspaper wrote: Pakistan is determined to operate a clearing mechanism with Iran in order to stay away from the effects of unilateral US sanctions against Iran, and in this regard, good agreements have been made between the two neighboring countries, especially after the recent visit of the Pakistani army commander to Tehran.

The upcoming trip of Iran’s economic delegation to Pakistan will facilitate the clearing mechanism

An economic delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran is going to travel to Islamabad in the coming days to examine the solutions to facilitate the clearing mechanism and identify new opportunities to increase the volume of bilateral trade with Pakistan.

The issue of increasing commercial, banking and clearing cooperation with the aim of increasing trade between the two neighboring countries was discussed during the meeting between the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan and the finance minister of this country.

At the same time, the Ministry of Finance of Pakistan announced in a statement that the trade officials of Iran and Pakistan will hold meetings and meetings related to this area next week in Islamabad.

In this framework, an economic delegation from Iran will travel to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, in the coming days, during which a joint committee to facilitate the clearing trade mechanism of the two countries will be held.

During their stay in Islamabad, the members of the Iranian delegation are going to meet with the senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce, Finance Affairs and the Central Bank of Pakistan.

On the 23rd of June this year, the third meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Investment Committee was held in Islamabad with the visit of the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance and the head of the Organization of Investment and Economic and Technical Assistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Sama website quoted Pakistani economic observers and wrote that Islamabad, with a balance in its regional policy, should take firm and firm steps in deepening with reliable partners in the region because this is considered the most effective solution to overcome Pakistan’s economic crisis.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan officially opened a joint border market in May this year in order to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation and increase the volume of commercial exchanges.
