Pakistan: Terrorists in Afghanistan use NATO weapons

Pak Sahafat – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan asked the caretaker government of Afghanistan to take effective measures to deal with terrorism and said: Today, terrorist elements in Afghanistan are using the weapons left over from NATO forces.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency from Pakistani media, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in a speech at an economic conference in Islamabad, once again raised the country’s demand from Kabul to address the concerns caused by terrorism and insecurity in the common borders.

Zardari’s words are mentioned while the deadly suicide attack on Sunday in Bajaur region, located in the northwest of Pakistan, left at least 54 dead. The terrorist group “ISIS Khorasan” claimed responsibility for this explosion. The government of Pakistan has repeatedly expressed concern about the movements of terrorist elements including ISIS and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan inside Afghanistan and has demanded a strong action against these elements from the interim ruling body of this country. At the same time, the claim of the presence of elements of the Pakistani Taliban in Afghanistan has been rejected by the caretaker government in Kabul.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan is concerned about terrorist activities from Afghanistan and that terrorists are using NATO weapons.

Addressing the caretaker government of Afghanistan, he said: Our policy in the fight against terrorism is clear. Pakistan wants to deal with the problem of terrorism and for this purpose is ready to cooperate with Kabul against terrorist elements.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan made an official visit to Kabul last month. This visit was made at the same time as Pakistan’s political and military leaders took a harsh stand against the Afghan Taliban, and so far no official comments have been made regarding the achievements or new agreements of the neighbor to resolve political differences or deal with unrest on the common border.
