Foreign Minister of Pakistan: The international community should have a constructive interaction with Afghanistan

Pak Sahafat – Referring to the current situation in Afghanistan, Pakistan’s foreign minister said that the international community should have a practical and interactive approach with this country.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from the website of the Pakistan Express Tribune newspaper, in a speech at the Institute of Strategic Studies in Islamabad, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan noted that abandoning Afghanistan or its 40 million citizens during this important and critical period could lead to unimaginable consequences. The international community must continue to support and help prevent any humanitarian catastrophe and help build a sustainable economy for Afghanistan’s long-term development.

He further added: At the same time, Pakistan hopes that the Taliban authorities will respond to the expectations of the international community. Afghanistan’s internal government must ensure inclusiveness, respect for the human rights of all citizens, and effective counter-terrorism measures.

This Pakistani political official said that the relations with India had recently faced an atmosphere of mistrust due to India’s illegal and unilateral actions on August 5, 2019. Pakistan is committed to having good neighborly relations and cooperation with India based on mutual respect and equal sovereignty.

He emphasized that in order to move forward, India should pay attention to the problems that hinder peaceful coexistence and create a space for meaningful interaction and dialogue.

In the end, Pakistan’s foreign minister said that his country is committed to a peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir conflict based on the UN Security Council resolution. If this conflict is resolved in a fair way, not only will a stable peace be formed in South Asia, but this peace will bring prosperity to one fifth of the people in the region.
