Pakistan is ready to start a new military operation against terrorist groups

Pak Sahafat – The National Security Council of Pakistan has approved the plan to start a new anti-terrorism operation, including against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban group, in order to deal more effectively with the problem of terrorism, which has increased significantly in recent months.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Pakistan’s official sources, the intensification of terrorist attacks, including the unprecedented rise of Pakistani Taliban elements in different regions of this country, has severely disturbed peace and security to the point where terrorism, along with the economic crisis, has turned into a deadlock in holding state elections in Pakistan and overcoming domestic unrest.

The members of the National Security Council Committee of Pakistan headed by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday, during the 41st meeting of this committee, agreed to the new comprehensive military operation plan against terrorism, especially to contain the challenge caused by the attacks of the terrorist group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

In this meeting, which was held with the presence of the commanders of the armed forces of Pakistan and the heads of the country’s intelligence agencies, it was agreed that within the next two weeks, a committee consisting of high-ranking national and military officials will formulate and present the policy and strategy for the implementation of new military operations.

The National Security Council of Pakistan announced that the recent wave of terrorism is the result of being soft with the enemies of peace and the lack of a rational policy against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (referring to the performance of the former government of this country) and contrary to public expectations, under the pretext of building trust during peace negotiations, dangerous Pakistani Taliban terrorists were released from prisons.

In recent months, Pakistan witnessed an unprecedented increase in deadly attacks against civilians and its security forces, and the government of this country claims that the main reasons for the escalation of unrest in Pakistan are the use of Afghanistan by terrorists and anti-Pakistani elements, and that its current rulers lack the necessary ability to address the concerns of its neighbors.

The annual report of the monitoring team of the 1988 Taliban Sanctions Committee points out the links between the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban, and explains how this group benefited from the fall of Ashraf Ghani’s government last summer, and points to its relations with other terrorist groups active in Afghanistan.

Observers believe that Pakistan took the threat of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan lightly, but the peace agreement with this dreaded group was a big mistake. It is said that the Pakistani authorities allowed hundreds of Tehreek-e-Taliban insurgents to return to their homes in order to build trust, but this terrorist group used the negotiations and ceasefire as before to renew their strength.
