Constant and variable components in the relations between America and the Zionist regime

Pak Sahafat – The dispute between the US and the Zionist regime is not an unprecedented issue, but now, as in the past, we should not expect a substantial change in the relations between the two sides.

According to the International group of Pak Sahafat news agency, With the inauguration of Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet, we are witnessing unprecedented differences between Tel Aviv and Washington; Differences that should be examined only at the level of Netanyahu’s and Joe Biden’s cabinet and not at the level of historical and strategic relations between America and the Zionist regime.

In this regard, the New York Times newspaper wrote on July 11 in an article written by “Thomas Friedman” that Joe Biden’s government intends to review relations with Israel; This article was highly noticed by Arab, Palestinian, and Israeli political and media circles, and after that, various debates and controversies and scenarios were raised; Some wrote that Tel Aviv and Washington will always remain strategic allies and that these differences are superficial and transitory, and some claimed that the level of relations between the two sides has begun to decline.

Between these two opinions, zero and one hundred, according to the writer, the relationship between the United States and the Zionist regime is based on fixed principles and variables, although we cannot deny some developments around these principles and the decrease or increase of some side variables.

Israel’s crimes reduced the value of American companies aligned with Tel Aviv

During the past 70 years, the Zionists have always benefited from the maximum support of the United States. For example, Barack Obama had a strong disagreement with Netanyahu, and Netanyahu’s presence on the floor of Congress and a speech against the nuclear agreement with Iran and against Obama was an unusual diplomatic action that made a lot of noise, but Obama signed a 40 billion dollar contract with Tel Aviv. Joe Biden has repeatedly said that he is a Zionist and proud of it, although he is not Jewish. He has not taken any practical action against Israel in the past three years of his administration, and tensions have remained at the verbal level.

This blind favoritism of American officials, both from the Democratic and Republican parties, has attracted the attention of many circles and they ask that the reason for this level of support is not justified.

On the other hand, American officials have always talked about “common values” as a justification for their support of the Zionist regime, which is surprising, and no one can be found anymore, at least in the West Asian region, who believes such justifications.

America has supported Israel in all wars in the past seven decades, and the Zionists, with Washington’s support, have committed murder, looting, aggression, and brutality; none of this, especially the open occupation, is compatible with the declared values of the Americans. Beyond the military, weapons and political support, America sends its financial aid to Israel with open arms, which none of America’s allies have such a gift, so that according to reports, America gives at least four billion dollars in financial aid to the Zionists every year.

The story of “shared values” between America and Israel shows, more than anything else, America’s support for tyrannical and dictatorial regimes and drowning in “double standards”, which shows the highest level of hypocrisy and deception. America claims that “freedom” is the basic principle of this country’s values, and in return it supports a regime that has occupied a nation for seventy years.

Geostrategic interests

Therefore, “shared values” cannot be a criterion for describing US-Israel relations, what can be a more logical explanation for this issue should be followed in geostrategic interests; Considering that Israel is at the center of Washington’s strategies in West Asia and the Persian Gulf and is a lever by which it can confront rival and enemy countries or control or limit them and prevent them from rising and uniting and mobilizing; From the period of Gamal Abdel Nasser in Egypt and confronting the expansion of the left nationalist trend until now and standing against the axis of resistance centered on Iran, we have witnessed this role-playing.

In short, the strategic calculations between Tel Aviv and Washington do not allow imagining the worsening of Israel’s relations with the United States, and one should not exaggerate the differences between the two sides, as such imaginations and analytical errors can greatly harm the Palestinian groups and the resistance front.

Another issue of disagreement between the United States and the Zionist regime in the Biden administration is the issue of settlements, and American officials have repeatedly criticized the development of settlements in occupied Palestine. But the main point here is that the difference between Washington and Tel Aviv in this regard comes back to the two issues of the speed and geography of settlement construction, that is, in principle, America does not have a problem with settlement construction, but it objects to the speed of this phenomenon in the West Bank.

The Americans demand a slow process of settlement construction and consider the massive construction of new houses for Israelis in the West Bank against the idea of two states; An idea that seems to be the best way to bring the Palestinian resistance under control and basically in the way of securing Israel’s security.

On the other hand, the United States has never allowed the Security Council to pass a resolution against the settlement of the Israeli regime, and has never imposed any sanctions against this regime, and all opposition has not gone beyond a simple expression of criticism, while there are few countries in the world that to act against the will of America and not be targeted by sanctions.

The likes of Ben Guerre and Smotrich behave in a way that puts America in trouble in front of the public opinion of this country for continuing to support Israel without any reason and makes the excuse of “common values” ineffective, while the anti-Israel sentiments among American youth is increasing rapidly, even American Jews are mostly anti-Zionist; However, it is very unlikely that the anti-Israel opinions in the American society will show themselves in the congressional and presidential elections and send people to the congress and the White House who support the Palestinians more than Israel.

In the end, it should be said that the dispute between the US and the Israeli regime is not a new issue; At the end of 1956, when Israel along with France and England declared war against Egypt, the United States, along with the Soviet Union, demanded the withdrawal of Israeli, French and British troops from Egypt; in the 1999 Madrid Conference, which tried to promote the idea of peace on earth Americans fell out with Israel; Regarding the issue of the Iran nuclear deal, we also saw a difference between the parties, and now that Israel’s internal issues have caused a difference; But in none of these cases did the strategic relations between Washington and Tel Aviv change.
